Lifespring Health and National City Team Up to Combat Rising Healthcare Costs With the Lifespring Health Everyday Rewards Visa Credit Card. Cardholders Earn up to 4 Percent Back on Everyday Purchases in Points Towards Health and Wellness Expenses*
PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 22 — According to the California HealthCare Foundation, healthcare costs are projected to reach 2.3 trillion dollars in 2007 — more than 15% of which will be out-of-pocket expenses covered by individuals. That’s why Lifespring Health has joined together with National City to offer a no-annual-fee rewards credit card dedicated to helping people pay for their healthcare expenses.
Everyday lifestyle expenses can now be turned into points for healthcare. This revolutionary concept allows net purchases charged on the credit card to earn reward points to be used for health and fitness expenses, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and insurance premiums.
Named the Lifespring Health Everyday Rewards Visa(R) Platinum Card, the card issued by National City Bank offers unprecedented flexibility in earning and redeeming loyalty points. This no-annual-fee rewards credit card lets Lifespring Health members earn reward points on everyday purchases, such as groceries, gas, clothing, entertainment and dining. The reward points are deposited into the member’s account and can be redeemed to pay for health services, prescriptions, elective medical procedures, gym memberships, wellness products, health insurance premiums, HSA contributions, and much more.
“We teamed up with Lifespring Health to offer this innovative credit card because we were impressed with their vision of what could be done to help control the exploding cost of healthcare,” said Paul Reiff, Vice President, National City. “With rising healthcare costs at the forefront of consumer concerns, the timing could not be better for a unique healthcare rewards card like this.”
In addition to earning points with the Lifespring Health Everyday Rewards Visa card, members can earn up to 10 percent in points when shopping online with over 250 retail partners in the Lifespring Health preferred retail network.
“The Lifespring Health Everyday Rewards Visa credit card is like a frequent flier program for healthcare,” said Mark Pearson, Lifespring Health CEO. “The Lifespring Health approach fits easily into our members’ lifestyles and enables them to collect and spend their points towards creating a healthy lifestyle.”
